Nouns and Pronouns
Nouns are words used to identify a person, an animal or a thing.
The Pronouns stand in for them when they are not identified by name or other appropriate noun. Pronouns fall into three categories, speaker, addressee and the absentee classified as first, second and third person respectively. The following table shows the pronouns used in the Cutchi language.

Cutchi Grammar:
Rule of numbers:
In Cutchi there are two number levels: Singular and Plural. Singular nouns generally end with 'o' or 'i' sounds. In plural 'o' ending nouns change to 'a' and 'i' ending nouns change to 'iyun'.Nouns ending in consonents generally do not change.
Example : Singular Plural
Boy Chokro Boys Chokra
Girl Chokry Girls Chokriyun
Dove Kabutar Doves Kabutar
However, there are some exceptions. This rule is not applicable when a plural noun is used to denote respect. There is no 'dual number' in Cutchi as found in Arabic, Sanskrit and certain other languages.
In this lesson we will see different categories of nouns which are peculiar to Cutchi. Words imported from other regional languages have been avoided as they are well known in the respective areas and equivalent cutchi words could not be found. The words are grouped into contextual classes as :
